Becky G Brings “Rebecca” Home, Celebrating Her Documentary in Inglewood
Global superstar Becky G hosted the premiere of her forthcoming documentary REBBECA last night at the Miracle Theatre in Inglewood, bringing her story home to the community that helped shape her.
The day kicked off at 1:00 p.m. with a vibrant Mercado curated by Becky G, transforming Market Street into a lively hub of local entrepreneurship and cultural pride. Open to the general public, the Mercado featured an array of beloved Latino vendors. The marketplace reflected Becky’s ongoing commitment to uplifting small businesses, celebrating her roots, and creating spaces where her community can shine.
“It was never a question for me if the premiere of this documentary would be in the city that raised me because my pride for where I come from is as real as it gets,” Becky shared from the stage ahead of the screening. “But what I wasn’t prepared for emotionally was seeing this room filled with so many familiar faces. Little me used to buy her school uniform next door, and I don’t think she could’ve imagined days like today.”
Filmed during one of the most transformative chapters of her life, while preparing for her first-ever headlining tour and creating her debut Música Mexicana album, REBBECA finds Becky not at the peak, but in the climb. It’s a story of growth, family, and forgiveness. Through intimate moments with her loved ones and honest reflections, she opens up about loss, love, and the uneven road of self-discovery. Created in the same season she recorded ESQUINAS, the film unfolds as a love letter to her Mexican-American roots and the people who shaped her.
Owner of the Miracle Theatre, Mariana Weber Smith, shared this of the experience:
“As a Latino-owned, independent theater on Market Street, we are proud to support artists and cultural events that serve the South LA community. We were honored to partner with Becky and her team to bring this incredible event to The Miracle, and to show everyone what makes Inglewood special to so many of us.”
The premiere arrives just over a week before REBBECA’s nationwide theatrical release on December 10th and 13th. Tickets are available now at beckygisrebbeca.com.
