Myke Towers Drops New Album ‘Island Boyz’
Myke Towers just dropped a brand new album titled Island Boyz.
The album opens with “La Despedida,” a collaboration with DFZM that sets the emotional and narrative tone with a raw and direct sensibility. Another highlight is “Surferita,” featuring iZaak, a song that blends ska rhythms with Mexican tuba, creating a fresh, unexpected, and profoundly Caribbean sound.
“Tengo Celos,” included on the Island Boyz tracklist, is the album's focus single and promises to be the biggest song on the radio in the coming months. The official music video, also available today, was directed by Daniel Eguren, with creative direction by Pol Gago Guilera and César Laboy of Vampire Studio, and produced by Vampire Films.
“The idea was for it to sound like the place I'm from, but also like what I'm experiencing now. Island Boyz is the most real thing I've done to date,” commented Myke Towers about the process behind the album.
The list of collaborators—Quevedo, De La Ghetto, Gabito Ballesteros, Manuel Turizo, Omah Lay, Ludmilla, DFZM, and Izaak—doesn't follow formulas, but rather reflects artistic affinities that amplify the album's vision. Each contribution adds nuances without obscuring the narrative that runs through the project: a blend of vulnerability, celebration, and artistic evolution.
